Make Your Wish Sand - Old Time Hoodoo Product

Those who have read Jim Haskins' book Voodoo and Hoodoo may have come upon a few spells where an ingredient called Make Your Wish Sand is used.

This ingredient does not seem to be one of the most popular conjure products, and my research into it suggests it might have evolved simply as a way to market colored sand to occult customers. Colored sand, such as one would use decoratively in an aquarium or a centerpiece, is all is seems to normally consist of -- blue, gold or white are the most common hues.

A simple way to acquire some would be to buy up regular quartz sand, (also known as "wedding sand") or sand colored in gold or blue; but if you wish to make some of your own, here is my own exclusive recipe!

MAKE YOUR WISH SAND
1/8 cup fine beach sand
1 tsp powdered bismuth
1 tsp iridescent glitter

Combine all ingredients and shake together well. To use: place about a tablespoon of the mixture into the palm of your hand, state your wish aloud, and cast the mixture into the open air.

I feel the resulting mixture looks far more worthy of wish-making than the alternatives, and I use this myself for my personal spellwork.
