Paper Candles

Glass encased candles were invented, according to my understanding, in the 1940s; they became popular in spiritual shops in the 70s.

Older books, from the 40s or 20s, sometimes specify to use "Fiery Wall of Protection Brand" candles and so forth. What did they mean if there were no screened or printed glass candles?

Well, as you see in the picture at right, what they used to do was just put a paper label on a freestanding candle.

The Etsy Shop Sandi Enchanted Garden sells this type of candle (and she'll even custom make one with whatever design you want, if you contact her.)
