Spiritual Soaps and Laundry Detergent

Ever gotten the perfect spiritual or magical soap for your need and then gone, "Oh, but I want to fix my laundry for magic as well! I need to buy some extra bath crystals/powders/perfumes to add to the wash." Well, fret not, because YOU DON'T!

The concept of a different soap for each different purpose has only been popular since the mid-20th century. It used to be a single bar of soap was expected to serve all purposes. The Hurston family used old fashioned Octagon laundry soap as their laundry and body cleaning bar. Modern spiritual soaps are no different. Here's how to convert any magical bar soap for laundry:

Mix equal parts soap scrapings, borax and baking soda together, and beat to a uniform powder. Use about 1 to two tablespoons of this mixture in the laundry depending on load size; half that for high efficiency machines. It produces very little foam but it does get the job done.
